On 17th April 2011 Neil Armstrong Salt sadly succumbed to lymphoma cancer following a sick bed of approximately 3

months. Neil was a respected businessman and entrepreneur in Namibia and also a Honorary Member of Hochland 154,

Round Table, following a career in Round Table of 21 years.

Neil cherished his last moments in the presence of his family and friends and was fortunate to experience their support

from the moment he was diagnosed, throughout his treatment and until he passed away. During his treatment period, Neil

could not help but notice how a large number of cancer patients were struggling alone in the absence of family support.

Cancer treatment can be very painful and traumatic, but also very costly. Neil soon realised that the lack of family

presence with many cancer sufferers was due to financial constraints.

One of Neil’s final wishes was to assist fellow sufferers in any way that he could. He specifically identified the physical

presence and support of family to cancer patients as an area that he would like to get involved in.

Hochland 154, Round Table aims to raise N$100.000,00 and fulfil Neil’s wish. In memory of Neil, Bruce Salt (Neil’s

brother and also a member of Hochland 154, Round Table) will swim from Robben Island to Blouberg Strand on the first

anniversary of Neil’s passing. This 7,5 km swim, in 14 degree Celsius cold water, dressed only in a speedo, will take

place on 17th April 2012. You can sponsor Bruce by donating money towards this cause, whether per 100m (75 x 100 =
